Velodyne Files Patent Infringement Complaint with ITC Against Hesai and RoboSenseAugust 17, 2019

Velodyne Lidar, Inc. filed a patent infringement complaint with the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) against Hesai Photonics Technology Co., Ltd. and Suteng Innovation Technology Co., Ltd. (a.k.a. RoboSense) for violations of section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930 which makes unfair methods of competition and importation of certain products into the United States unlawful. Earlier this week, Velodyne also filed patent infringement complaints against Hesai and RoboSense in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. Velodyne is asking the ITC to investigate these lidar manufacturers for unlawfully importing and selling lidar sensors that infringe Velodyne’s patented lidar technology (U.S. Patent 7,969,558). Uber lost more than $5 billion last quarterAugust 11, 2019

(Petra)-- Uber lost $5.2 billion in the second quarter the ride-hailing giant's biggest loss ever thanks to huge stock-based payouts in the months following the company's ballyhooed stock market debut in May.

Uber said Wednesday it paid $3.9 billion in stock-based compensation and expenses during the quarter.

The loss per share, including those expenses totaled $4.72. Uber's revenue for the period rose 14 per cent to $3.1 billion.

Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. (TOKYO:7272) announced today that for the first half of the fiscal year ending December 31, 2019, consolidated net sales were 855.9 billion yen, an increase of 0.5% from the same period the previous year. The company experienced a 16.1% decrease in operating income of 13.2 billion yen, while ordinary income fell 9.1% to 70.2 billion yen and net income for the period attributable to parent company shareholders was down 8.4% to 52.2 billion yen.

GAM adds 100 electric vehicles to fleet July 31, 2019

AMMAN — The Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) on Monday received 100 electric vehicles to cut down on emissions and operating costs.

Amman Mayor Yousef Shawarbeh said Alkan International, affiliated with Renault Jordan supplied GAM with the vehicles, which will be added to the municipality's fleet of 2,000 vehicles, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
