    Jordan calls on regional countries to join NPT September 23, 2017

    Jordan Friday called on Middle East countries, including Israel, to join the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) and to subject all their nuclear facilities to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) safeguards.

    This came in a speech made by Chairman of the Jordan Atomic Energy Commission Khalid Toukan during the 61 regular session of the IAEA's General Conference which concluded today in Vienna, Austria.

    Army, IOM sign 52-millon-euro agreement September 20, 2017

    The Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) on Tuesday signed a 52.8-milion-euro agreement with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), to strengthen security and provide humanitarian assistance on the northeastern borders with Syria.

    Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mahmoud Freihat said the partnership with the European Union and the UN through the International Organization for Migration (IOM), is essential to allow the JAF to continue assisting Syrian refugees across the borders.

    JBA president calls for closer economic ties with Switzerland September 18, 2017

    President of Jordan Businessmen Association (JBA) Hamdi Tabba' stressed the importance of boosting economic ties between Jordan and Switzerland.

    During a meeting with the Swiss Ambassador to Jordan Hans-Peter Lenz, Tabba highlighted the need to increase Swiss investments in the Kingdom in strategic sectors as well as the number of Swiss tourists visiting the Kingdom.

    Samsung opens school for Syrian refugees in Jordan September 18, 2017

    Samsung Electronics Co. said Monday it opened a smart school for Syrian children at a refugee camp in Jordan to provide them with IT device-based education.

    The South Korean tech giant said it launched the smart school at the Zaatari refugee camp in Jordan, which provides learning opportunities to Syrians aged between five and 24 through smartphones, tablet PCs and electronic displays.
