The Industry, Trade and Supply Ministry has set the prices of fresh chicken at JD1.80 per kilogramme for producers and providers and at JD2 for consumers, according to a ministry statement carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, on Sunday.

Live chicken will be sold at JD1.45 for producers and providers and at JD1.65 for consumers. The ministry said whoever exceeds the above mentioned prices will be fined.

The ministry confirmed that chicken is abundantly available at the civil and military consumer corporations, with prices ranging between JD1.3 to JD1.5 per kilogramme.

Meanwhile, the ministry has issued 214 fines for shops since the beginning of Ramadan, 70 of which were issued over the past four days for failure to abide by chicken prices, Petra reported.
