HTU, JORAMCO sign MoU on aviation science, aircraft maintenance education

Al Hussein Technical University (HTU), Wednesday, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Jordan Aircraft Maintenance Company (JORAMCO), with the aim of establishing academic cooperation in the field of aircraft maintenance science and technology to support the growing needs of the aviation sector in Jordan and the Middle East by providing a unique theoretical and practical education.

Under the agreement, the two sides commit to developing educational programs, study plans and awarding specialized certificates in the field of aviation science and aircraft maintenance. Through its expertise, JORAMCO will provide HTU with technical knowledge, training programs and workshops through JORAMCO Academy, the educational and training arm of the company.

HTU President, Labib Khadra, stated that this cooperation comes as a result of realizing the growing needs for a skilled workforce in the field of aviation science and aircraft maintenance.

Highlighting the importance of this cooperation, Amjad Korshlow, Acting CEO of JORAMCO, said that the agreement is a unique model which will strengthen the ties between higher education institutions and private sector, and will also harmonize the outputs of higher education with the needs of the labor market.

Established in 1963, JORAMCO is considered to be a leading aviation company in the Middle East offering a variety of services from aircraft maintenance to refurbishment services for aircrafts such as Airbus, Boeing and Embraer. In 2007, the company established the JORAMCO Academy for the training and training of Jordanian youth in aircraft maintenance.

HTU was founded by the Crown Prince Foundation (CPF), and aims to support Jordanian youth’s pursuit of vocational, technical and applied education. HTU is set to open its doors for registration at the beginning of October this year.
