Groupe ADP strikes deal to take control of Amman International Airport operator AIG

JORDAN. Groupe ADP has struck a deal to take exclusive control of Airport International Group (AIG), concessionaire at Amman Queen Alia International Airport, for US$267 million. The move was first flagged in November, when ADP entered exclusive negotiations to acquire a majority stake in AIG.

The co-shareholders will be Meridiam and ASMA Capital Partners B.S.C., the latter acting in its capacity as investment manager for IDB Infrastructure Fund II and Edgo. Groupe ADP has been a 9.5% shareholder of AIG, through ADP International, since 2007. With this takeover it will fully consolidate the financial statements of AIG.

The completion of the transaction is subject to conditions including consent from the Government of Jordan and AIG’s lenders.

Amman Queen Alia Airport welcomed 7.4 million passengers in 2016. It was named the best airport of its size (5-15 million passengers) in the Middle East by Airports Council International in the 2016 Airport Service Quality survey.
