Arab education forum kicks off

AMMAN — The Third Arab Regional Meeting on Education 2030, titled “Aligning curriculum, teachers and learning assessment to reach SDG4 targets in the Arab States”, kicked off on Sunday at the Dead Sea, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The meeting was organised by the UNESCO Regional Office for Education in the Arab States — Beirut, in cooperation with UNESCO partners. The meeting will address key aspects of quality and equity in education, including ensuring quality education for all students, developing scientific and practical skills and realising the concept of global citizenship to achieve sustainable development.

During the opening ceremony, attended by the Yemeni Minister of Education Abdullah Lamlas, Secretary General of the Ministry of Education Mohammad Al Akor said that Jordan has started, through its educational institutions, to take important steps towards achieving the SDGs, in the framework of its commitment to international conventions and the Incheon Declaration.
