Commission lowers electricity prices for February

AMMAN — The Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission Council decided to lower the “differences in fuel prices” category on monthly electricity bills for February, according to a commission statement.

The commission said that the new price would be 10 fils per kilowatt-hour (kWh) instead of 12 fils, a 17 per cent decrease.

The statement said that the commission met to adjust fuel prices to correspond with changes in the price of oil used by the National Electric Power Company. The “differences in fuel prices” category excludes households that consume 300kWh or less per month, according to the statement.
