Electricity Mobility in Jordan Conference kicks off

Amman, Feb. 5 (Petra)--Activities of 'Electricity Mobility in Jordan Conference' which is organized by the Ministry of Transport, Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung and Global Green Growth Institute, opened in Amman on Tuesday.

The conference, held under the patronage of Transport Minister Anmar Al Hmoud, aims to exchange expertise and knowledge on electricity mobility, and discuss technological solutions for challenges facing the transport sector at the public and private levels.

Acting Secretary General of the Ministry of Transport Acting Naeem Hassan said the ministry has the honor to develop partnership with all parties from the public and private sectors,' he added.

Hassan added that the transport sector is a major pillar of the economies of countries and a key factor in social and economic growth, noting that the transport sector in the Kingdom contributes 8% of the Gross Domestic Product and employs about 7% of the labor force.

Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung provided the platform to discuss current issues on energy topics. Therefore its aim for this conference is to provide a platform to bring the different actors together in the electric mobility field in Jordan.
