DIFI presents findings on experiences of parenting support at Jordan forum

The Doha International Family Institute (DIFI), a member of Qatar Foundation (QF), is participating at the Regional Consultation on ‘Parenting Support in the MENA Region’, organised by the UNICEF Middle East and North Africa Regional Office (UNICEF MENARO) and UNICEF Jordan in collaboration with Maestral International. The event being held in Amman, Jordan, will continue until June 13.
The regional consultation is part of a wider consultancy project geared towards the provision of strategic and technical guidance to UNICEF and partners relating to the effective and scalable implementation of evidence-based parenting interventions for children and adolescents in the MENA region.
Dr Sharifa Noaman al Emadi, DIFI executive director, said: “In light of increased interest in evidence-based parenting programmes in the Arab region and around the world, this is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the development of the regional strategy, roadmap and practical guide around parenting support and cross-sectoral programming for the MENA region. “The event is an opportunity for DIFI to meet regional and international stakeholders, and share learnings and insights into current approaches and key features of parenting interventions, implemented in different contexts, across the MENA region and globally.”
DIFI participated in the second session of day one of the consultation, focusing on ‘Global and Regional Experiences on Parenting Support’, where Dr Anis Ben Brik, DIFI director of Family Policy Department, presented findings of DIFI’s regionally groundbreaking report ‘Parenting Programmes in the Arab Region’.”
