Jordan hosts training session for IAEA project

Amman, June 16 (Petra) -- The sixth regional training session in the field of food security, organized by the Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) in cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), kicked off in Amman on Sunday.

Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Tariq Hammouri, who is deputizing for the Prime Minister, said: 'Choosing the Kingdom to host this session came at the request of the IAEA due to the distinguished Jordanian infrastructure that is able to host more than 60 specialists and technicians representing 38 countries from across the world.'

The JFDA has been making tremendous progress in the field of food security and its lab technicians have been participating in the previous training sessions, based on this a specialized lab was established that managed to obtain the ISO certification to test the residues of the foods by employing the most advanced techniques in conducting tests.
