Tarawneh discusses bilateral ties with Tunisian PM

AMMAN — Lower House Speaker Atef Tarawneh on Tuesday congratulated Tunisian Prime Minister Elias Fakhfakh for his government winning the confidence of the Tunisian parliament.

During his meeting with Fakhfakh, Tarwaneh praised the Tunisian democratic experience. He stressed the importance of maintaining coordination and consultation between Amman and Tunis, especially regarding the joint Jordanian-Tunisian higher committee meeting to be held in Amman before the middle of 2020.

He added that the committee “can provide platforms for businesspeople of the two countries”, and present prospects for a mutual investment partnership, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Fakhfakh affirmed his country’s pride in its relations with the Kingdom, praising Jordan’s stances led by His Majesty King Abdullah in the pursuit of security and stability in the region and his support of the Palestinian cause.

Tarawneh also met with Tunisian Foreign Minister Noureddine Rai on Tuesday, stressing the importance of unifying both countries’ efforts on common issues, especially those in support of Palestinian rights, Petra reported.
