46 tourist facilities flouting preventive measures shut down, says MTA

Petra)-The inspection teams at the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities (MTA), in cooperation with other relevant authorities, has shut down 46 tourist facilities, and fined 787 others for failing to comply with the set public health and safety preventive measures.
In a press statement issued on Thursday, the ministry said its inspection teams have intensified their oversight tours over a four- month period exending from April 20 to August 31.
1502 inspection tours were conducted nationwide and legal action was taken against the violating hotels and resturants for non-compliance to the ministry's anti-Covid-19 procedures, and its guidelines, according to the statement.
344 tourist facilities, participating in the domestic tourism 'Our Jordan is a Paradise' programme, were visited to ensure their commitment to prevention and public safety measures, as 2 were closed, and 127 others were notified to rectify their status, announced the ministry.
