    PM reiterates importance of adopting new measures to regulate prices

    Amman, Nov. 25 (Petra) -- Prime Minister Bishr Khasawneh directed officials at ministries and institutions to take all necessary measures to ensure there is no hike in goods and staples prices in the market by promoting the role of regulators.

    In a Cabinet meeting held Wednesday, Khasawneh was briefed by the Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Maha al-Ali about the legal issues surrounding regulating the prices of goods and staples.

    Al-Ali said that the Ministry has all the legal and oversight tools to detect any malpractices of the law, as she emphasized that the Kingdom's stockpile of staples is at a secure level.

    Also, Khasawneh directed the ministries and officials to brace themselves and take all necessary measures to deal with the weather conditions forecast within the few coming days.

    The Cabinet approved an amendment to the tourist restaurants law of 2020, and it approved an agreement with Singapore to fight tax evasion.
