GAM, RHAS sign cooperation agreement to raise health awareness
Amman, Dec. 2 (Petra) - The Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) and the Royal Health Awareness Society (RHAS) signed on Wednesday, a cooperation agreement to implement joint activities, programs and initiatives to spread road health awareness and safety, and to enhance the health level through the Amman 'healthy city initiative,' which was launched by the GAM.
The agreement, which was signed by Amman Mayor, Youssef Shawarbeh and RHAS Chairman, Rami Farraj, entails the two entities to implement joint activities in schools, universities and health centers to spread health awareness and prevent Covid-19 disease.
Under the agreement, joint programs will be implemented to prevent Covid-19 and other epidemics, as well as programs to spread awareness targeting road safety and injury prevention.
During the signing ceremony, Shawarbeh expressed his appreciation for the RHAS's efforts in spreading health culture, especially as the world is battling the coronavirus pandemic now, which requires awareness programs targeting all generations and adherence to the directives issued by the competent authorities.
For his part, Faraj lauded the GAM's 'continuous' support for health sector, especially inAmman regions, pointing to its 'tangible' role in holding and sponsoring health awareness programs.
