Amman, Jan. 13 (Petra) -- Minister of Labor and Minister of State for Investment Affairs, Maan Qatamin, stressed the importance of reopening economic sectors, calling for a balance between the health and the economy by adhering to preventive measures to halt the spread of the coronavirus.

'The government realizes that closed sectors suffer from economic hardship, so it was necessary to gradually reopen some sectors under a joint responsibility to limit the spread of the virus,' Qatamin said in press conference held Wednesday evening at the Prime Ministry.

The Minister of Labor called for a focus on the seriousness of commitment within the (Tawkeed) program, within the framework of safety measures to limit the spread of Covid-19.

He explained that the 'Tawkeed' program was prepared to limit the spread of the virus and to ensure that the facility adheres to health procedures, pointing out that each sector has a protocol.

He underlined the importance of inspection and self-monitoring and encouraging facilities and individuals not to underestimate the work of some infected persons in the facility, to maintain the continuity and sustainability of economic activity.

Qatamin also said that the 'Tawkeed' program gives the citizen confidence when putting sticker on the facility that show that it is safe, which enhances its operations, indicating that the details of the program will be announced soon by the Ministry of Labor.
