    Jordan's trade deficit with EU at JD2.1bln

    Amman, Jan. 26 (Petra) -- Jordan's trade deficit with members of the European Union amounted to JD2.1 billion in the first eleven months of 2020, down by 11.2 per cent from the JD2.3 billion recorded in the same period of 2019, according to official data.

    During the January-November period of 2020, Jordan's national exports to EU nations edged down by a slight 1.2 per cent, totaling JD136 million against JD137.7 million in the same period of 2019, the figures released Tuesday by the Department of Statistics showed.

    In turn, the Kingdom's imports from the bloc stood at JD2.24 billion in the same reporting period, down by 10.8 per cent compared with the JD2.5 billion recorded in the same period of 2019.
