    JCC chairman meets Syrian trade minister

    Amman, Feb. 25 (Petra)-President of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce (JCC), Nael Kabariti, discussed on Thursday, in Damascus, with Syrian Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, Talal Barazi, mechanisms for enhancing trade exchange between the two countries.
    Speaking during the meeting, Kabariti stressed the Jordanian commercial sector’s keenness to activate the trade exchange movement with Syria and facilitate the flow of goods between the two countries.
    Stressing the need to remove all obstacles facing the transit trade, he noted the importance of integration between the various economic and industrial activities in the two countries.
    Kabariti stressed that his visit to Syria aims to 'sustain' relations between the Jordanian-Syrian economic sectors and to work on finding a mechanism to activate ties to serve common interests.
    In turn, Barazi affirmed his country's readiness to provide all forms of support and facilitations necessary to revive trade exchange, especially the transit trade, as it has a 'vital' role in stimulating the flow of goods between the two countries and other countries' markets.
    During the talks, which were attended by President of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce, Mohammad Lahham, he stressed the importance of exchanging visits between businesspeople and commerce chambers' members in the two countries, organizing exhibitions, and establishing investment projects.
