Amman, Nov. 25 (Petra) -- The Belgian Development Agency (BDA) signed Thursday a cooperation agreement with the Vocational Training Corporation (VTC) under the 'Qudra 2' project to provide job opportunities for Jordanian youth and Syrian refugees.

Under the agreement, the recipients will be trained on a host of accredited programs within a specific skill set at the VTC institutes and on-site locations in accordance with a labor-oriented learning approach.

The agreement, inked by Omar Quteishat, VTC Director General, and Christelle Jocquet, BDA Jordan and Palestine Manager, stipulates that the VTC will train some 700 young men and women in Amman, Irbid, Zarqa, Mafraq, Jerash and Karak in 12 months at most. This training would provide job opportunities for more than 25 percent of fresh graduates.

'Qudra 2' project is carried out by the BDA Jordan and European partners and is jointly funded by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund, the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation.
