Bill approved to abolish National Bank’s Law for Financing Small Projects

AMMAN — The Parliamentary Committee on Economy and Investment on Sunday approved a bill to abolish the National Bank’s Law for Financing Small Projects for 2021, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The decision aims to enhance competitiveness and ensure justice, the committee announced, adding that a unified legal and regulatory framework for the microfinance sector already exists in the Kingdom under the umbrella of the Central Bank of Jordan.
On the other hand, the chairman and members of the committee called on the National Microfinance Bank to postpone loan installments for people, given the economic conditions and the approaching month of Ramadan.
