Amman, Nov. 1 (Petra) - The government has paid back a US-guaranteed Eurobond, which has matured on October 30, 2020, at a value of $1.25 billion, said the Ministry of Finance on Sunday.

The Treasury has remitted the Eurobond amount, the ministry announced, indicating that the total public debt will drop by $1.250 billion by the end of October 2020.

With loans from the Social Security Investment Fund (SSIF) excluded, the percentage of total central government debt will go down to stand at 82.4% out of the estimated GDP at the end of October 2020, the ministry has forecast.
