RJ diverts flight route to aid traveler
Amman, Feb. 25 (Petra) - The Royal Jordanian (RJ) announced that it has diverted the path of its regular flight (RJ264) from Chicago (O'Hare International Airport) to Amman (Queen Alia International Airport), to make an emergency landing at Goose Bay Airport in Canada to aid a traveler.
The pilot had taken a decision to divert the flight route and land at the nearest airport after a passenger showed symptoms of a stroke, which necessitated his transfer to the hospital, according to a press statement issued by the national carrier.
After evacuating the patient to the nearest hospital to receive medical care, the plane resumed its original route to Amman after a 3-hour delay on the grounds of Jose Bay Airport, the RJ statement said.
The RJ places the health and safety of its passengers at the forefront of its priorities, the briefing noted.
