    Jordan, Thailand discuss ways of cultural cooperation

    Petra)- Minister of Culture, Ali Al-Ayed, discussed remotely on Thursday, with his Thai counterpart, Itthiphol Khunpluem, ways of cultural cooperation between Jordan and Thailand.
    Speaking during the meeting, Al-Ayed praised the 'deep-rooted' relations between the two friendly countries in all fields, especially in cultural areas , on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
    Al-Ayed also underlined efforts made by Jordan to prevent Covid-19 spread, and the government's endeavor to reach a 'safe summer' this year by expanding campaigns to administer the vaccine.
    Al-Ayed also presented the impact of the pandemic on workers in the cultural sector, and the virtual transformation of the ministry's activities by launching indoor competition dubbed:' My Talent from My Home', in addition to kicking off specialized platforms for arts training.
    Al-Ayed also highlighted measures taken by the ministry to support workers in the cultural sector, explaining that cultural action will also continue at a 'higher' pace after controlling the pandemic by activating cultural activities and events.
    The two friendly countries had struck a cultural cooperation agreement in 2006, which organizes joint cultural activities, projects and initiatives, in addition to providing an opportunity to exchange experiences in the field of supporting cultural and artistic industries, according to Al-Ayed.
    For his part, the Thai minister highlighted his country's experience in dealing with pandemic, and ways to deal with the cultural sector and its workers to overcome the disease's impact, pointing to his country's shift to the awareness aspect as part of its programs to deal with the crisis.
    Khunpluem referred to cultural cooperation agreement signed between Jordan and Thailand, and its executive program aimed to developing and strengthening friendly relations by holding cultural activities and events, and heritage protection.
    For his part, Thai ambassador to Jordan, Pornpong Kanittanon, highlighted the 'distinguished' relations between Jordan and Thailand, indicating that the embassy is ready to work to strengthen ties by launching joint activities and projects that the two friendly countries are looking forward to achieve in the future.
