    December 18, 2021

Petra) -- The Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) welcomed about 4.089 million passengers (PAX) during the first eleven months of 2021, registering a 113.4% increase and 50.5% decline against 2020 and 2019 figures, respectively.

Meanwhile, QAIA received 41,630 aircraft movements (ACM), 87.2% more and 43.5% less than the figures recorded during the same periods in 2020 and 2019, respectively. As for year-to-date cargo figures, QAIA handled 53,033 tons, marking a 18.3% rise and 43.7% drop compared with 2020 and 2019 figures, respectively.

During the month of November 2021, 469,488 PAX passed through QAIA - demonstrating a 25.3% fall against 2019 figures. Additionally, QAIA witnessed 4,947 ACM, indicating a 14.8% drop compared to 2019 figures. QAIA also handled 4,981 tons of cargo, recording a 42.5% decrease as opposed to 2019 figures.

The CEO of Airport International Group, Nicolas Claude, said that passenger traffic is still below ambition, as is evident in the statistics, after it recovered to nearly half so far, compared to what was recorded in 2019.

Claude stressed that Airport International Group continues its commitment to providing travelers with a safe and comfortable travel experience through the airport despite the weak international response to the ever-changing epidemiological situation around the world.
