AMMAN — In implementation of Royal directives, Royal Court chief Yousef Issawi on Tuesday inaugurated several Royal initiatives projects in Jerash, Zarqa and Amman.

In Jerash, Issawi, in the presence of Social Development Minister Ayman Mifleh and Jerash Governor Muhammed Abu Rumman, handed over certificates of new residences to seven families. The housing units were furnished and equipped with electric appliances, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

These residences were implemented under a Royal initiative for housing for underprivileged families, which was launched in 2005 with the aim of providing decent living conditions for the neediest households that undergo difficult living and economic conditions.

At the Sukhneh camp in Zarqa, Issawi opened a local community centre for women, which was designed according to the latest technical specifications to empower the women sector and enhance its participation in the sustainable development process.

The Royal Court chief also inaugurated a stadium of the Oudeh sports club in Zarqa, aiming to develop the youth and sport movement in the area and enabling youth to practise sports in a healthy environment.

In the Hittein camp, Issawi inaugurated a public park with a total area of four dunums that includes facilities for sand and rubber games, mainly for children with disabilities under the concept “safe parks”.

In Amman’s Sahab District, Issawi opened a gym affiliated with the military retirees association, and was established under Royal initiatives.

Issawi told Petra that implementing these projects followed His Majesty King Abdullah’s directives during his field visits and meetings with residents of these governorates, noting that despite the challenges facing the economy, His Majesty’s top priorities include improving the living and service circumstances for Jordanians.
