    June 20, 2022

AMMAN — The first Arab Jewellery Forum will be held in Amman on Sunday, bringing matters of the region’s jewellery industry to the fore.

The forum, organised by the Jordan Chamber of Commerce (JCC) in cooperation with the Arab Union for Gold and Jewellery, and the General Union for Owners of Jewellery Making Businesses, will see the participation of gold and jewellery traders and sector representatives from Jordan, Egypt and Kuwait.

Asad Qawasmi, JCC representative of the clothing, footwear and jewellery sector, told The Jordan Times on Saturday, that the forum would present an “exclusive knowledge and experience sharing platform” for sector operators, who would be discussing the prospects of regional cooperation.

“The forum will be a place where traders and sector representatives will also discuss the realities of the region’s jewellery market,” according to Qawasmi who noted that the forum is a chance to enhance cooperation and achieve common interests.

He added that the forum aims to strengthen strategic partnerships and investment relations among member states of the union.

There will be two dialogue sessions that focus on the current jewellery prices, various technical topics, in addition to the roles of the concerned institutions and organisations.

The Arab Union for Gold and Jewellery is an Arab organisation based in Beirut that works towards achieving economic integration among Arab countries.
