    Tourism revenues exceeds $1.2b in first 5 months of 2022 - Tourism ministry

    Amman, June 23 (Petra)-- Jordan's tourism revenues exceeded $1.2 billion in the first five months of 2022, marking an increase of 310.7 per cent, compared with the corresponding period of last year, after the percentage of tourists rose by 294.9 per cent, a monthly report issued by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities said on Thursday.
    The report added that the growth in revenues was mainly driven by an increase in the number of tourists, which stood at 1.270 million.
    The Kingdom's tourism income in 2021 increased by 90 per cent to reach $2.7 billion, compared with a 75.7 per cent decline in 2020, as a result of the increase in tourist numbers in 2021 to 2.358 million.
