Amman, July 1 (Petra) -- Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, Ahmed Hanandeh, said that the 5G technology is a key part of the transformation process that supports the digital economy.
Hanandeh, in an interview with Jordan TV’s '60 Minutes' program on Friday, noted that discussions among the ministry, the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) and the ICT operators are underway to address a number of accumulative challenges over the past years in this key sector.
The minister said that an agreement among the ministry, the TRC and the operators would take place within two weeks, adding that if the licenses were completed, the ministry would need from a year to a year and a half to launch the 5G service, which will open new horizons in digital transformation.
Hanandeh said that the digital infrastructure in Jordan is ready, after the Kingdom’s great investment in it, as the ministry is maintaining its sustainability and continued development.
