Industry ministry hosts meeting on intellectual property
Amman, July 4 (Petra) -- The Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Supply's Industrial Property Protection Directorate has hosted an online regional meeting on Covid's impact on intellectual property, public health, and global trade.
The meeting, held in collaboration with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), World Health Organization (WHO), and World Trade Organization (WTO), discussed a variety of intellectual property issues, including patents and their general provisions, as well as international practices.
The event introduced WHO and WTO intellectual property principles and guidelines, including the Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS), according to a ministry statement released Monday.
The meeting is part of a series of workshops held in collaboration with global organizations to educate on intellectual property and its relationship to the health and trade sectors.
