    Work underway to sign MoU with DFCI: KHCC

    Amman, Sep 27 (Petra)--The King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC) on Tuesday said work was underway to establish a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Dana Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) affiliated to Harvard Medical School to enhance local community participation and international partnerships to achieve better health outcomes in cancer treatment.

    The MoU aims to organize a series of workshops, lectures, training of staff at the KHCC, capacity building, achieve stability and scientific progress for health systems as well as health care in Jordan and the Middle East and North Africa.

    As part of this collaboration, Dr. Navid Madani, a Ph.D. scientist working in the Department of Cancer, Immunology and Virology at DFCI and Harvard Medical School, in cooperation with the KHCC, held a workshop entitled 'Guidelines and Strategies in Writing and Reviewing Scientific Publications', targeting KHCC staff who have fresh experience in writing scientific publications.

    The workshop included introducing attendees to the foundations, standards and specifications that must be met when writing and publishing scientific research papers. It also included interactive sessions, where attendees reviewed and amended the initial version of their scientific papers to allow them to publish their papers in high standards and quality scientific journals.

    Dr. Madani also delivered a scientific lecture to the KHCC medical staff entitled 'The Influence of the Media on Understanding and Preventing Cancer'.
