Cabinet approves mandating reasons for curriculum development centre bylaw

    November 7, 2022

Amman, Nov 6 (Petra) -- The Cabinet Sunday approved the mandating reasons for the draft bylaw of the National Centre for Curriculum Development (NCCD) of 2022 ahead of sending it to the Legislation and Opinion Bureau.

The draft bylaw is part of the 'public sector modernisation' roadmap in terms of delegating the responsibility for curricula development from the Ministry of Education to the NCCD, as it would be assigned approving the general framework of Jordanian curricula and the specific frameworks for each topic, in addition to approving curricula and manuals and refer them to the Education Council for approval in accordance with the Education Law No. 3 of 1994.

The proposed amendments included restructuring the NCCD Higher Council to include in its membership eight experienced members specialists in curricula development to realise the goals of NCCD.

The Cabinet approved the mandating reasons for the draft student fund bylaw at Yarmouk University for 2022.

The amendment would change the name of the bylaw and the legal basis for it issuance according to the Jordanian Public Universities Law No. 18 of 2018.
