MSC Splendida ship carrying 3,400 tourists arrives in Aqaba
AMMAN — The Aqaba cruise ship terminal on Tuesday welcomed the cruise ship the MSC Splendida, coming from the Egyptian port of Safaga and carrying some 3,400 tourists from various European and Arab countries, in addition to 1,168 crew members.
The Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) Spokesperson, Fayez Al Fayez, said that the arrival of several cruise ships during the winter season confirms that Aqaba has become an 'attraction at the Red Sea gate, and a global tourist destination', the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Fayez said that tourists are scheduled to visit Jordan’s “Golden Triangle” (Aqaba, Petra and Wadi Rum) and tour Aqaba. He noted that the ASEZA has provided all logistical services necessary to welcome tourists and transport them to the Golden Triangle’s historical, archaeological and tourist areas.
