    Housing minister, Iraqi counterpart discuss future cooperation, projects

    (Petra)-Minister of Public Works and Housing, Yahya Kasbi, discussed on Thursday, with Iraqi Minister of Construction, Housing, Municipalities and Public Works, Nazin Mohammed Woso, ways to follow up on outcomes of the bilateral, tripartite meetings that were previously held in Amman between Jordan, Iraq and Egypt.
    Discussions reviewed joint cooperation in the construction, and housing sector, and the latest common understandings that Jordan and Iraq has reached in this field, according to a ministry's press statement.
    The also meeting went over housing and construction files, and means of cooperation in the field of roads, bridges, buildings, sanitation and the housing sector, said the statement.
    Speaking during the meeting, Kasbi stressed the 'deep-rooted, strong' relations between the two countries, which is reflected in the joint keenness to reach 'fruitful, continuous coordination and cooperation that is reflected on common interests.'
    Stressing Jordan's keenness to enhance the cooperation horizons in the construction field with Iraq, Kasbi highlighted joint action made recently to overcome obstacles facing Jordanian contractors and investors.
    For her part, the Iraqi minister affirmed her country's 'seriousness and keenness' to develop horizons of joint cooperation in various fields, noting her country's keenness to benefit from the Jordanian engineering and construction expertise in Iraq's development process.
    Woso praised the Jordanian construction sector and its role in housing, development and construction projects in Iraq for its experience and efficiency, expressing hope for implementing outcomes announced by Jordan, Iraq and Egypt within the framework of bilateral and tripartite meetings during the past period, which serve common interests.
